The Van

Our van is a 2004 Ford E-350 with a Quigley 4X4 conversion. We wanted a stealth vehicle and a 4X4 was a serious bonus, it's also extended! We bought it off eBay without ever actually seeing it so it was little nerve-wracking. Justin actually, accidentally on purpose, placed a bid with only a few minutes left and we were freaking out because we weren't sure if it was the one and we didn't see it in person and everything else. He thought there would be the pop up saying "Are you sure you want to place a bid?" (there wasn't). So we were happy when someone outbid us. We continued searching for a rig and then he got an email a few days later saying that the 3 highest bidders had another chance because the original winner didn't claim it. We had 24 hours to respond and two other parties that could respond before us. We were calling family asking what they thought of it and if it looked okay. After panicking most of the day and talking it though we went for it and got it! That Saturday we drove down to Pennsylvania to pick up our new rig and drive it back to New York.

Right after purchasing the van, we filled it up to head home to NY which was an adventure in itself.

Below are some of the pictures from eBay.

The floor mat and new paint job did an excellent job of covering up how uneven the floor was and all the rust which is starting to peek through.

Cleaning through the van we found out the original color is school bus yellow. We were curious so we asked the dealer where the van came from and they said it was used to transport parts and tools to pipeline sites around Pennsylvania.

Since the van is painted grey and is peeling to reveal the sunshine yellow underneath we decided to name the van Cloud.

Next up, the build!
